April Lockhart, born in 1995 on the 4th of July, began taking piano and guitar lessons from age seven. She was interested in creating songs was sparked. In the seventh grade she began to take guitar and piano lessons. It sparked her interest in songwriting. In her 14th year April spent a lot of her time singing and writing songs. Soon after, April started traveling with her father as well as write her songs either in NY as well as LA. April also began incorporating various other topics relevant to the song, which she called the Take my Hand song for some close friends, like peer pressure issues and suicide among teens. Lockhart has her own fan base and works as an online lifestyle blogger for the popular Ilia clean beauty brand. She has a disability that is a component of her personality, but it is not the whole image. Lockhart's profile on Twitter doesn't conceal her status as disabled however, it doesn't concentrate on the fact that she is disabled. What message is it sending? This is the message: We all have numerous identities. We're much way more diverse than we think that we're. Lockhart has stated on video that she doesn't wish to be defined solely by her handicap. She doesn't want to be a disability advocate who only speaks about it. There are a variety of aspects of Lockhart. It doesn't impact my daily life. I conduct my business as usual and have come up with my own ways to adapt. However, it's a component of me so I think it's essential to discuss. Self-acceptance is a lifelong marathon however Lockhart is an absolute inspiration on that front. She admits that she's been through periods of being uncomfortable with her body, at times, feeling insecure to wear specific types of clothes which showed how much of her body. Nowadays, she can wear whatever she'd like. And she posts her photos on social media. The key to self-love for her is that it's not a place to go. This is, however, typical for people that is prone to doubts. It's important to have people around you who are aware of and appreciate the way you feel.
